Rating Methodology

Supplement

Our method for evaluating supplement suppliers is based on thorough and dedicated research of individual products. We are able to directly compare the supplements offered by collecting qualitative and quantitative data about each brand and the user experience as a result. We evaluate a brand based on 3 criteria of Reputation, Quality & Transparency, and Pricing.

Brand Transparency

We will look at general factors about brands and companies such as the age of establishment, and whether the company has FDA (Food and Drug Administration) assurance of safety and quality or meets the rules of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, we will also consult customers or lawsuits that have occurred due to the quality of the products since the company was established until now.

Quality

  • Sourcing & Ingredients: We will review the information and location of the safe source of the material. The ingredients printed on the packaging and in the product description are validated.
  • Third-party Testing: We’ll be looking at certificates of analysis (COAs) to back up brands’ claims of ingredient content and potential contaminants. The validity period stated on the product and the COAs should also be carefully compared. In a product of good quality, this is almost mandatory. In addition, we will also check the LOQ or LOD labs, which can provide an accurate estimate of the THC content in the product.
  • Manufacturing Standard: The key to having a good product is that their manufacturing facility must be approved by them for FDA compliance and good practice. We will learn about the address of the manufacturing facility as well as the method to produce the product with good results.

Supporting Clinical Research

While product testing claims are often highly accurate, they are by no means absolute. So in order to help strengthen the confidence of our customers when using our products, we have put in place certain criteria to check the accuracy of product claims.

There are 2 main types of research:

– Randomized controlled trial (RCT)

– Observational Studies

Randomized controlled trial (RCT): RCT is a type of scientific experiment that is used to control factors that are not directly under experimental control. Clinical trials that compare the effects of drugs, surgical techniques, medical devices, diagnostic procedures, or other medical treatments are examples of RCTs.

An RCT allows statistical control over these influences by randomly assigning participants to one of two treatments. An RCT may achieve sufficient control over these confounding factors to provide a useful comparison of the treatments studied if it is well-designed, properly practiced, and enrolls a sufficient number of participants.

Observational Studies: In contrast to the above RCT method applied to random subjects which can be difficult for analysis and inference, these studies have clearly specified target groups in order to accurately analyze the effects of products on specific target groups.

Combining the two studies above means that there are very few real-life cases missed in the study, and the claims will be more accurate.

Supporting clinical research is a component of medical and health research intended to produce knowledge valuable for promoting health and prevention.
